Many Ashwagandha supplements don't specify their withanolide standardization clearly, making it hard to know if you're getting a clinically meaningful dose.
This formula uses a 5:1 Ashwagandha Root Extract (1,000mg, equivalent to 5,000mg of raw root powder), standardized to 2.5% withanolides matching the exact specification used in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial conducted in India, which found that Ashwagandha root extract with 2.5% withanolides significantly reduced perceived stress, anxiety (GAD-7), and cortisol, while increasing serotonin, over 60 days. (That trial used 500mg once daily; this formula provides 1,000mg.)
A systematic review and meta-analysis of 5 randomized controlled trials (400 participants) found that Ashwagandha extract significantly improved overall sleep quality, with the strongest effects seen at doses of 600mg/day or higher and in adults with diagnosed insomnia this formula's 1,000mg daily dose exceeds that threshold.
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 57 young men found that Ashwagandha root extract supplementation alongside resistance training significantly increased muscle strength (bench press and leg extension), muscle size, and reduced exercise-induced muscle damage compared to placebo. (Being transparent: this trial and most similar strength studies used a higher-concentration extract standardized to 5% withanolides, a different specification than this formula's 2.5% so results may not transfer identically.)
